LST stands for Learning Support Team

An IEP is an Individual Education Plan that is written in by the student's Learning Support Teacher in conjunction with parents, classroom teachers, and support staff.

The IEP is a confidential document that is shared only between the student's classroom teacher, the LST staff, and the administration. 

A Case Manager is an LST teacher that is assigned to support your child. 

A Case Manager has several functions:

• To write the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for the students on their caseload
• To be in direct contact via meetings, telephone conversations, or email with parents and classroom teachers regarding the students on their caseload
• To check regularly check in with the students on their caseload to see if they require support
• To advocate for educational needs of the students on their caseload

Psycho-educational testing is a standardized test that is administered by a qualified school psychologist. This testing provides information on the student's IQ and Academic Achievement. 

ELL stands for English Language Learner.

No. Post secondary institutions operate under a different ministry. Many post secondary institutions ask for students to register with their learning centre the spring before the September they wish to start. Post secondary institutions will not contact students with special needs and offer support. The onus rests with the student and the family to seek out support.
